I'm really really bad at this 'business' malarkey.
Whenever I find a problem area for a client, instead of telling them that they need to come back to me every week for a few weeks (or whatever the timings may be), instead I show them how they can 'fix' themselves.
Because I believe that everyone should be able to perform basic maintenance on themselves. And if I think they can do it, then I'll show them ways to do so.
There is a problem with this though. Sometimes I do get someone through the door who wants to hand all responsibility to me. They want to hand me their credit card and then expect me to 'fix' them. But that's not how I work.* (Although if it was I'd be a hell of a lot richer right now!!)
At the end of the day, it's YOUR body. YOU are responsible for it. Yes I can guide you but I'm not willing to be the type of professional who just accepts your money in exchange for 'fixing' each time you decide it needs it.**
It may sound hash. And as a result, I'm definitely not the right therapist or Coach for everyone. But if you are wanting to learn, if you are willing to take responsibility for your own health, if you know that only YOU can sort out your issues, then we'll work well together.
You only have one body. And if you want the life that you always wanted then it all starts with taking responsibility, plotting a course of action, and being patient and persistent, today, tomorrow and forever after.
* There are, as always, exceptions to this. And sometimes a client may benefit from extra treatments by my own hands. But not often.
** This is not referring to having a massage from someone where there are so many benefits by being touched by someone you trust. Oh and forget the jokes. They've been done before. Therapeutic touch is hugely beneficial!!
